Hello  !

Just a little information about me.

My name is John R Goode , age 58,  I am widowed, with three grown children, Emma (with 3 daughters) Andrew (1 new daughter) and his twin, John H.  I have three elder sisters, and one younger brother and sister.

I'm currently working as a courier,  and have recently moved to Redditch in the West Midlands.

I was born & lived in Nottingham for 25 years and then Derby for 32 years.

Interests.... travelling (obviously!) motorcycles (touring/racing etc.) football (soccor) (Nottingham Forest :) Photography, Archery, DIY, Films (love the classics and obscure stuff).  Been riding bikes since 1972 - estimate I have done around 3,500 000 miles to date (no! not joking ).  I've raced on tracks (road racing) on and off for 15 years until recently, have done many miles touring France and surrounding western European countries, and been courier working on bikes, on and off since 1985 (hence the high mileage lol).

Health wise I'm pretty good, a little asthma now and then, a few aches and pains from most joints, but can still play sunday league footy now and then (dodgy knees and hips permitting :)

Met and married Jacqueline in 1981, and had 3 lovely children, before divorce 8 years later. Quite soon after, took on the very young children by myself, and brought them up alone for a few years. Then met Michelle, who eventually joined us as one family, and we were married (on Mallory Park Racing circuit) in 1999.

Michelle had a genetic disability at the time, Myotonic Dystrophy, and as the years went by, started to struggle with normal day to day activities. It was at this point, I quit work to look after her full time as was needed. We all had an enjoyable family life for years, then, sadly, Michelle contracted pneumonia for the second time, only weeks after losing her own mum, she lost her own battle, and passed away quietly in my arms, January 26th 2009.

One of her last comments was, "you can go on that trip now can't you"  referring to the many enjoyable discussions we had whilst watching many tv/dvd's programmes on world travel, and the way we used to talk about travelling the world ourselves, would it have been possible.

So, I am now in the position of trying for a second time, (1st attempt in 2010) at travelling solo, by motorcycle, around the entire world, taking as long as needed. Taking Michelle with me, in my heart, and in a home made pendant worn around my neck!
